Before holiday break, during a peak of pandemic and house buying induced burnout, I got a breath of fresh air talking from one of the new hires here at Wayfair, Mike Crittenden. After checking out his blog, he inspired me to get started blogging again. I’ve been trying to get in the habit of doing things that I find tedious for just ten minutes (thanks Wheezy Waiter) – and this feels like a good thing to put some time toward. There’s a lot on my mind these past few years – since I’ve learned quite a bit in my role as a software engineering manager Wayfair and there is still yet a lot to learn.
I’ve been a user of WordPress in one way or another since the early oughts – when I started the online mac user group Mac-Board.tk with Tom Levens (who really did all the heavy lifting). It’s only fitting that I come back to this platform. It’s served me well – as the CMS behind most of the freelance work that I did to pay for college tuition, as well as my first major programming gig relaunching Boston.com (much of my work there is still up and running to this day, years later!).
I hope that this blog can serve as a place for me to talk about several topics:
- Software Engineering
- Management
- Meditation and Spirituality
- Sociology and Psychology
- Education
- US Policy
To whoever reads this – thanks for bearing with my compositional style, and I hope you get something useful out of it.
