Sometimes, the most impressive features are tiny and come at just the right time.

Recently, I started a new gig, where I am working with a team that is spread across several timezones and any one person can be 10 hours from another person.

This was either a problem where I’d have to get up early and communicate a lot – or just accept the miscommunication. Gmail has this functionality – I’ve used it to prevent people from knowing that I was up late thinking about something.

The biggest productivity booster I’ve received recently has been the ability to schedule slack notifications for early in the morning (this example above of course isn’t so early) – so that I can be sure that my folks across the globe get notifications about things that I’d like them to look into at the beginning of their workday. It’s a new feature this year, and I love it.
